UPDATE (10:45 p.m.): A new virus circulating in the U.S. could be bigger than previously suspected.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has reported that the coronavirus outbreak is spreading to more than 60 states, with more than 1.6 million cases and 7,400 deaths reported.
The report from the agency on Thursday showed the virus had reached nearly 50 states and territories and could infect more than 20 million people by the end of June.
The new coronaviruses circulating in this country are more prevalent than those from the past, according to the CDC.
It is unclear how the new coronas are spreading and if it is related to the pandemic, which began with the introduction of the new flu vaccine.
There is concern that the virus may have entered the U., though officials have not said how it got there.
The CDC is asking people who have traveled to any area with an active outbreak to come home.
People who travel to the affected areas should wear masks and get tested for coronavids, and if they have not, call 9-1-1 to report a suspicious person.
