Thousands of Ohioans have joined a national march in the nation’s capital on Thursday to call on the federal government to legalize recreational marijuana.
The Ohio March for the Republic, which has been growing in size, attracted about 1,000 participants in downtown Washington.
Organizers said about 200,000 people had signed up to participate.
The event comes as President Donald Trump is scheduled to make a second stop in Ohio and Maryland later Thursday.
A spokeswoman for the White House said the president is looking forward to meeting with local leaders and engaging with residents to discuss how we can work together to get marijuana legalization done.
